Cholelitholytic effect of Chinese herb rongshiyihao through nasobiliary catheter

Abstract
AIMS To study the efficacy and safety of endoscopic retrograde cannulation of the cystic duct or commonbile duct (CBD) in 40 patients, and direct gallstone dissolution using Chinese herb rongshiyihao.
METHODS ① A comparative study on cholelitholytic effects of methyl tertiary butyl ether, sodium cholate, d-limonene preparation, monooctanoin and cubeba oil on cholesterol stones in virto were perfermed; ② Endoscopic retrograde catheterization of the gallbladder was perfermed in 44 cases for 3-7 days;③ A serial clinic experimental study of cholelitholysis infusion with rongshiyihao.
RESULTS The potency of rongshiyihao in direct dissolving stones was superior to that of the rest agents(P <0.05). 30 patients (75%)were completely free of stones after treatment. There was no biochemical evidence of intravascular hemolysis, the aminotransferase activity, serum bilirubin concentration, BUN. None of the patients developed bile duct obstruction, cholangitis or pancreatitis. ......
