     Effects of YiShenHuoXue Capsule on erythropoietin in rats with chronic renal anemia

    【Abstact】 AIM: To investigate the effects of YiShenHuoXue Capsule (YSWX) on erythropoietin and renal function in rats with chronic renal anemia. METHODS: The rat models of chronic renal anemia were established with adenine (n=30) and then were treated with YSWX. RESULTS: YSWX significantly improved the rats' renal function (BUN mmol/L: 17.5±3.6 vs 28.5±10.6, P﹤0.01; 12.2±3.2 vs 28.5±10.6, P﹤0.01; SCr μmol/L:109.1±10.2 vs 72.1±7.6, P﹤0.01; 93.9±11.7 vs 72.1±7.6, P﹤0.01) and increased the erythropoietin level in plasma (CFUE;11.5±3.4 vs 6.58±2.1, P﹤0.01; 13.2±3.6 vs 6.58±2.1, P﹤0.01). CONCLUSION: YSWX can improve rat renal function and increase erythropoietin level in plasma. ......
