     Leukemia inhibitory factor in human follicular fluid and its effects on human oocytes

    【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate whether leukemia inhibitory factor(LIF) exists in human follicular fluid(FF) and its effects on human oocytes. METHODS: Enzymelinked immunosobent assay was used to determine the levels of LIF in FF obtained during oocyte pickup and in the serum in 66 cases of in vitro fertilizationembryo transfer, and the relationship between the levels of LIF in FF and the oocyte development was analyzed. RESULTS: The levels of LIF in FF and serum in 66 cases were 28.5±13.1 ng/L and 3.0±1.5 ng/L , respectively, the difference was very significant (P<0.01). And there also was no relationship between them. The levels of LIF in FF from which matured oocyts were obtained was 33.7±11.1 ng/L ......
