    Measuring cardiac output by bronchial mucosa thermodilution curves

    【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate and develop a new noninvasive method of measuringt cardiac output (CO) by bronchial mucosa thermodilution curves. METHODS: A thermistor probe of 0.8mm diameter was inserted into rabbit's bronchi and had it clung onto the bronchial mucosa. 1 mL 0℃ 9 g·L-1 NaCl solution was infected into venae jugularis externa fleetly and the data of bronchial mucosa thermodilution curves (BMTC) was collected, and then the CO (BMTPF) was calculated from BMTC by microcomputer. At the same time, blood flow of ascending aorta (AACO) was measured by electromagnetic blood flow meter. RESULTS: BMTPF had good linear relation to AACO (r=0.93, r2＝0.864, P<0.0001). CONCLUSION: In some way, measurement of CO by BMTC can substitute for the conventional thermodilution. It is a feasible, convenient and noninvasive measurement method. ......
