    Effects of presintering temperature and temperature elevation speed on physical and mechanical properties of aluminaglasscomposites

    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the effects of presintering temperature and the temperature elevation speed on the physical and mechanical properties of aluminaglasscomposites (AGC). METHODS: The aluminaglasscomposite was prepared respectively at 1400℃ and 1450℃ by fast or slow temperature elevation speed. The properties were measured, including density, thermal expansion coefficient, threepoint bending strength, fracture toughness, modulus of elasticity and Vickers hardness of AGC. RESULTS: With the increasing of presintering temperature and the temperature elevation speed, the density of AGC decreased while the bending strength, fracture toughness and modulus of elasticity increased markedly. There was no significant difference between the threepoint bending strength and fracture toughness of AGC at 1450℃ by fast or slow temperature elevation speed, while the threepoint bending strength and fracture toughness of AGC at 1400℃ by slow temperature elevation speed were significant lower than those in the other three groups. The bending strength of AGC at 1400℃ by slower temperature elevation speed was the lowest. The Vickers hardness of the 1450℃ groups was higher than that of the 1400℃ groups. CONCLUSION: Both presintering temperature and the temperature elevation speed influence the properties of AGC. Of the two, the presintering temperature has the greater effect. ......
