Investigation of life quality in acute stage stroke patients

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To assess the quality of life (QOL) and related factors in acuteª²stage stroke patients and to seek measures to improve their QOL. METHODS: A crossª²sectional and multicentric design was used. The QOL of 121 acuteª²stage stroke patients in 11 hospitals was assessed by SFª²36 and the influential factors of QOL were analyzed by nonparametric test and multiple stepwise linear regression. RESULTS: The QOL of stroke patients was correlated with hypertension, gender and family support. The QOL of females was worse than that of males (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: Active treatment of hypertension, more care of patients¬ð mental health, especially that of female patients, and stronger family support are essential in improving the QOL of acuteª²stage stroke patients. ......
