Effects psychological consulting on the life quality and social support system of HIV infectors

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To study the effect of psychological consulting on life quality andsocial support status of HIV infectors. METHODS£º94 HIV infectors were asked to fill the questionnaires on life quality (GQOLIª²74,generic quality of life inventoryª²74)and social support system before and after the psychological consulting in Beijing Ditan Hospital. RESULTS£º The quality of life of the HIV infectors was significantly improved after the outpatient psychological consulting, as well as their physical, mental and social function .The physical scores ranged from 33.9 to 61.2 in male and from 31.3 to 56.3 in female£»the mental scores ranged from 45.0 to 60.8 in male and from 32.1 to 57.3 in female£»the social function scores ranged from 67.0 to 91.6 in male and from 68.3 to 89.1 in female(P <0.05); The social support systems of HIV infectors were significantly improved after the psychological consulting, and the scores of objective support and its application level were improved .The scores of objective support ranged from 3.6 to 4.8 in male and from 3.8 to 5.0 in female. The scores of the application level of the social ranged support from 3.6 to 4.7 in male and from 3.5 to 4.4 in female.CONCLUSION£º Psychological consulting is a good means to improve the physical, mental and social functions of HIV infectors. ......
