    【Abstract】 AIM: To detect SARSCoV in various clinical specimens such as sputum, gargling liquid, throat swab and stool and explore the association between the disease course and the SARSCoV content. METHODS: We quantitatively detected 156 serum specimens from SARS patients by real time RTPCR. The viral load in SARSCoV positive serum was analyzed using the coronavirus deactivated with 9.4×109 copies/L. Robert Koch Institute as standard preparation and viruslike particles as positive controls. RESULTS: The sensitivity of the detected agent was 1×105 copies/L. Eightyone of the 156 cases (51.9%) tested were positive with the viral load ranging from 1×105-1×107 copies/L. The viral load in serum samples was generally low as compared with data reported for other specimens. CONCLUSION: There is no significant relationship between the low viral load and the disease course. ......
