Analysis of influencing factors of F scale results

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To study the influencing factors of F scale results by analyzing its raw scores in the male young subjects for the improvement of the scale. METHODS: Seven thousand and seventyª²three male youth in 18 different places all over the country were examined by MMPIª²215 and the results were collected and statistically analyzed. RESULTS: F raw scores were found influenced by a variety of factors, such as age, education and living background. The scores analysis showed that under age 18 group was > above age 18 group (including age 18), junior high school group > senior high school group > college group and rural area group > villages and towns¬ð area group > urban area group. CONCLUSION: The younger subjects, who have lowerª²education and live in the rural area tend to get higher F scores. The social and individual influencing factors should be fully considered in refining the scale, establishing the norms, making the standards and explaining the scores. ......
