     Analysis on relationship between L scale of MMPI and military personnel selection test

    【Abstract】 AIM: To explore the necessity and significance of using L scale itself as a test index for military personnel selection. METHODS: 17472 subjects were simultaneously interviewed with continuous addition test, word discrimination test and Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) by computer. RESULTS: A significant negative correlation was found between the results of L scale, continuous addition test and word discrimination test (r=-0.73, -0.32), and between L scale score and F scale score (r=-0.336). A positive correlation was found between L scale score and K scale score (r= 0.686) and no significant correlation was found between L scale score and Q scale score, and between L scale score and final result of the test (r=0.062). CONCLUSION: In military personnel selection, L scale score has a good consistency with intelligence test and personality test but has a weak relationship with the final result. It is not necessary to use L scale as a test index by itself in personnel selection. ......
