Investigations of emotional status of naval personnel serving at special worksites

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To explore the emotional status of naval personnel serving at special worksites. METHODS: A total of 1000 naval personnel serving at 6 special worksites were investigated and 962 valid questionnaires were acquired. Symptom Checklist 90 (SCLª²90) questionnaire was used to analyze their emotional status and the results were compared with Chinese norm and Chinese armyman norm. RESULTS: The total mean score of SCLª²90 and scores of all subscales in naval personnel serving at special worksites were higher than those of Chinese norm (P<0.01) and Chinese armyman norm (P<0.01). The total mean scores of SCLª²90 and scores of all subscales of army men at different worksites showed significantly different compared with Chinese armyman norm (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: For the naval personnel serving at special worksites, the general level of emotional status was lower than the Chinese norm and the Chinese armyman norm. The special worksite may exert an influence on the emotional status of naval personnel. ......
