Analysis of mental health and personality in officer cadets graduated from civilian universities or colleges

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To evaluate the mental health status and personality of the officer cadets who graduated from civilian universities or colleges. METHODS: The Symptom Checklist 90 (SCLª²90), Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) and a selfª²designed information list for officer cadets were used to evaluate the mental health and personality of 414 officer cadets who graduated from civilian universities or colleges. RESULTS: 1.0%-7.7% of the officer cadets showed all kinds of obvious mental health problems and these mental health problems were essentially focused on paranoia, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, hostility, and obsession. The total mental health level of the officer cadets was higher than that of civilian university or college students and cadets, and was a little different from that of military personnel. Negative correlation was found between SCLª²90 index score and EPQ E dimension score and L dimension score, and positive correlation was found between the index score and EPQ P dimension score and N dimension score in the officer cadets. CONCLUSION: The mental health status of officer cadets is good and their mental health status is correlated with their personality traits. ......
