     Expression features of MMP9 and TIMP1 in renal tubule in rats with adriamycininduced nephropathy

    【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the expression features of MMP9 and TIMP1 in renal tubulointerstitial tissues in rats with adriamycininduced nephropathy and their significance. METHODS: The mice model of nephropathy was established by tail vein injection of adriamycin 7.5 mg/kg. The renal histopathological changes, the urine protein excretion, urinary NAG and β2MG were examined. The expressions of MMP9 and TIMP1 in the cortex of the kidneys were examined by immunohistochemistry. RESULTS: The tubulointerstitial injury, the excretion of urine protein, urinary NAG and β2MG in nephrotic rats significantly increased as compared with those of the normal control group. In nephropathy group, the expression of MMP9 in the tubular cells increased on day 7 and reached the peak on day 14, with significantly higher quantities than those in normal group(P<0.05). The expression of TIMP1 increased significantly compared with that in the normal group on day 14, day 28 and day 56(P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The abnormal expression of MMP9 and TIMP1 in the tubular cells contributes to the pathogenesis of tubulointerstitial fibrosis. ......
