     Development of helicopter pilots working performance scale

    【Abstract】 AIM: To establish a working performance rating scale for helicopter pilots. METHODS: Quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis were conducted in the research. Based on the results of an open questionnaire and some interviews with 15 high rank helicopter pilots and 12 administrators, a questionnaire draft containing 28 items was developed and a survey was condutced in 197 helicopter pilots. One hundred and seventysix questionnaires were retrieved and analyzed by the EFA (explored factors analysis). The items in the questionnaire were screened and streamlined. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire were verified. RESULTS: It was found that the working performance of helicopter pilots involved mainly 3 dimensions: "flying quality", "work capacity" and "work attitude". The coefficients of the internal consistency of the whole scale and subscales were over 0.72. The scale had good content validity and structural validity as well as discrimination validity. CONCLUSION: This questionnaire, with its reliability and validity meeting the requirements of psychometrics, can reflect the overall working performance of helicopter pilots. ......
