Revision of Chinese military aviators¬ð personality inventory

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿AIM: To evaluate the validity and reliability of the revised 16 personality factor inventory for Chinese military pilots (Chinese revised version). METHODS: Seven hundred and two military pilots were subjected for the research to complete the revised questionnaire. And we separately worked on the item analysis, construct validity and testª²retest reliability of the inventory. Factor analysis and correlation of the factors were applied for the validity. 0.20 was used as the criterion of discrimination index to filter the effective items. Finally, the norm of the military pilots was established. RESULTS: There are 172 items selected in the revised inventory. The average testª²retest reliability of the revised version was 0.74. Factor analysis showed that criterion indexes of all items are above 0.20. The correlation among the factors showed that different factors were independent on each other. CONCLUSION: With a good reliability and validity, the revised inventory has been proved to be consistent, available and valid. It can be used as one of appraisal methods of pilots¬ð personality. ......
