Dried bean sprouts are made by soaking black beans in water until they sprout and then drying them in the sun.

Properties:
Sweet in flavor, mild in nature, it is related to the stomach channel.
Functions:
Relieves exterior syndromes, eliminates summer heat, clears heat and removes dampness by diuresis.
Applications:
Used for such ailments as fever with scant sweat, chills with sensation of heaviness in the limbs, tightness in the chest with greasy fur, etc., due to summer dampness, initial attacks of damp-warm syndromes or retention of damp-heat in the interior.
Dosage and Administration:
10-15 g.
Fresh water bean sprouts are mostly used to relieve exterior syndromes and eliminate summer heat, while prepared dried bean sprouts are largely used to clear heat and remove dampness by diuresis.
