    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To introduce a new operative approach, percutaneous cutting of contracture fascia, for the treatment of gluteus contracture. METHODS: Twentyª²eight cases of typical gluteus contracture were treated by cutting off the contracture fascia behind and above the greater trochanter. All cases were asked to do early functional training. RESULTS: The patients were followed up for 6ª²32 months. All cases recovered to normal or nearly normal in gait. No sciatic nerve injury or recurrence was observed. CONCLUSION: This operative approach, far away from sciatic nerve, is safe and simple to operate. Additionally, tissue contracture can be released completely and trauma is small. The therapeutic effect is assured. ......
