Owls’ eyes move

     Keywords: owls’ eyes

"Double crossed," the cover illustration and article by Schwab on the barn owl refers to the alleged immobility of the owl’s eyes.1 This is a myth which should not be perpetuated in the BJO. The owl’s eyes do in fact move, and while the amount is not large, it is just enough for two papers on the subject2,3 The phrase "nearly immobile" is preferable.
