【Abstract】 Objective: To estimate genetic and environmental contributions to behavior problems of children and adolescents aged 10-16 years, and to provide theoretical basis for prevention and intervention in children and adolescents' behavior problems. Methods:A total of 64 twin pairs aged 10-16 years participated in this study after multi-stage sampling. These twin pairs' behavior problems were assessed with the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL). The genetic and environmental influences on behavior problems of children and adolescents were estimated. Results:For behavior problems of children and adolescents aged 10 to 16 years, genetic (h2), shared (c2), and non-shared environmental (e2) factors explained about 33%, 57%, and 10% respectively of the total variance. Genetic influences on withdrawn, somatic complaints, attention problems and delinquent behavior were above 60%, and shared environmental influences on anxiety/depression, social problems and aggressive behavior ranged 41-64%.Conclusions: Both of genetic and environmental factors may play roles in behavior problems of children and adolescents, but environmental factors were more influential, especially shared environmental influences ......
