Abstract
AIM: To explore the expression of Th1 type cytokines, interleukin-12 (IL-12) and interferon-γ (IFN-γ ), in ulcerative colitis (UC), and to investigate the mechanism of UC at molecular level.
METHODS: Thirty UC patients diagnosed with colonoscopy and mucosal biopsy were enrolled in this study and 20 healthy volunteers were used as controls. IL-12 and IFN-γ mRNA expression were detected by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) ......
