Abstract
AIM: To evaluate the effect of accelerated immunization schedule for subjects whose spouses were HBV-positive before marriage.
METHODS: Healthy subjects were divided into 2 groups. Group A contained 45 subjects while group B consisted of 48 subjects. Group A was vaccinated using the accelerated schedule (immunized on day 0, 7, 14), and group B received the standard schedule (immunized in month 0, 1, 6). The efficacy was detected 1, 3, 7 and 24 months after the first vaccination.
RESULTS: The completion rate was significantly higher in group A than that in group B (93.3% vs 64.6%, P < 0.01). The seroconversion rates (anti-HBs more than or equal to 2 ......
