Trade Structure and Economic Growth： An Empirical Analysis based
on the Transnational Panel Data

Abstract：The trade structure is defined as the ratio of service trade and goods trade. The paper uses panel data of 30 major service trade economies to study the relationship between trade structure and economic growth. The results show that： there is a significant positive correlation between economic growth and trade structure in the service trade surplus countries； for the deficit countries， the relation between service trade and economic growth tends to be negative. Therefore， possible policy revelation is that we should pay attention to the proportion between goods trade and services trade in the process of trade structure adjustment， especially focus on the proportion of service trade in import and export.
