摘要：医生的职责在夏至西周时期是由巫医兼任的，巫医在当时有着极为显要的地位；东周至西汉前期，医生的社会地位较巫医有所下降，但仍有相当的地位，并且活动相当自由；西汉中期以后至唐五代，随着儒家思想成为封建社会的正统思想，这一时期医生地位明显下降，对医学的发展产生了消极的影响；宋元统治者重视医学，医生社会地位大为提高，推动了此时期医学的发展；明清医生社会地位空前下降，是这一时期医学发展的一个消极因素。

Abstract
From the Xia dynasty to the Western zhou dynasty , the function of doctor was concurrently carried out by witch doctor and witch doctor occupied an important position in the society ; From Eastern Zhou dynasty to the earlier stage of Xi Han dynasty , the social status of doctor was rather lower than that of witch doctor . But doctor was still belong to intellectuals and its action was unrestrained ; From the middle stage of Xi Han dynasty to Tang dynasty , with the thought of the Confucian school being the orthodox thought of the feudal society , the social status of doctor descended obviously and that influenced the development of medical science negatively . In the period of from the Song dynasty to Yuan dynasty , the governors attached importance to medical science and the social status of doctor went up ,which improved the medical development of this epoch ; In the period of the Ming dynasty and Qing dynasty , the social status of doctor went down unprecedentedly and this was a negative factor to the medical development of this period . ......
