CONCLUSIONS Extended-duration work shifts which are currentky sanctioned by the Accreditation Councik for Graduate Medicak Education pose safety hazards for interns. These resukts have impkications for medicak residency programs which routineky scheduke physicians to work more than 24 consecutive hours.
