Abstract
AIM To investigate the relationship between nitric oxide (NO ) levels and the vascular reactivity of portal hypertensive rats.
METHODS The changes of vascular reactivity of isolated abdomina l aortic rings from partially portal vein-constricted (n=12) and shamoperat ed (n=8) rats to potassium chloride (10mmol/L~80mmol/L) and phenylephrine (10-9~10-4mol/L) with or without NO synthase inhibitor N ω-nitro-L-arginine (L-NNA) were observed. ......
