Effects of angiogenesis inhibitor TNP-470 with lipiodol in arterial embolization of liver cancer in rabbits

Abstract
AIM To evaluate the anti-tumor effects of angiogenesis inhibitor TNP-470 combined with lipiodol which was injected and embolized via hepatic artery of liver cancer of rabbits.
METHODS Vx2 carcinoma cells were surgically implanted into the left liver lobe of 24 male New Zealand white rabbits,which were divided into 4 groups at random,with 6 rabbits in each group. Lipiodol, TNP-470, lipiodol plus TNP-470 and physiological saline were injected in different groups via hepatic artery to embolize liver cancer of rabbits. One week later, the volume of tumor, microvessel density, the serum level of AST, the survival period and pathological slices were observed. ......
