    Effect of all-trans-retinoic acid on promoter activity of human α1(Ⅰ) procollagen gene

    Abstract

    AIM To study the effect of all-trans-retinoic acid (t-RA) on promoter activity of human α1(Ⅰ) procollagen gene and the influence of insulin-like growth factor 1 and insulin on the effect.

    METHODS Human skin fibroblasts were transiently transfected with the construct of pCOLH2.5 containing -2483-+42bp of the procollagen gene and CAT as reporter gene. The cells subsequently treated with t-RA or/and IGF-1 or insulin. The CAT activity was assessed 24h after t-RA and the cytokines added. ......
