【摘要】 大肠癌是最常见的消化道癌肿之一，包括结肠癌和直肠癌，发病率居所有癌症第三位。已知大肠癌的发病机制属多步骤性，其病因可能与饮食不当、它病病变、生理和遗传因素有关。西医在治疗大肠癌时难免会损害机体的正常功能，若同时施以中医药辅助治疗，可巩固和加强治疗效果、延长患者的生命及改善其生存质量。本文以中、西医学的观点，探讨大肠癌的病因病机，并阐述中西医学互补及其结合治疗，更提供有效方药和抗癌食品。处于后基因组年代，诊断、治疗越趋分子层面，文中亦简述一些前沿性治疗，并剖析中医的分型诊治及其多靶点效应。
