HPLC determination of ginsenoside Rgl in NaoLeKang Capsules and in ginseng extract

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To establish a method of HPLC determination of the content of ginsenoside Rgl in Naolekang Capsules and that in ginseng extract. METHODS: After ginsenoside Rgl in Naolekang Capsules was extracted, other substances in the capsules were removed by ether and macroporous resin column. The content of ginsenoside Rgl in Naolekang Capsules and that in ginseng extract were assayed by HPLC using C18 column with methanolª²water(52¡Ã48, V/V)as the mobile and detected at 203 nm. RESULTS: An excellent linear relationship was obtained between the peak area and the concentration of ginsenoside Rgl (R2=0.9996). The average recovery rate of ginsenoside Rgl was 98.6% and the RSD was 1.7%. CONCLUSION: This method, accurate and reproducible, can be applied to the quality control of Naolekang Capsules and to the analysis of commercial ginseng extract samples. ......
