     Effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine Andi on cAMP in murine peritoneal macrophages

    【Abstract】 AIM: To observe the effects of traditional Chinese medicine Andi on cAMP in murine peritoneal macrophages (MΦ). METHODS: cAMP concentration in macrophages of mice abdominal cavity was determined by using cell culture and competitive protein conjunction analysis. RESULTS: ① cAMP level had some regular changes. Within 3 min following ip. Venenum Bufonis (VB), the cAMP concentration rose rapidly and reached the peak value at 6 min, then declined gradually and recovered to the primary level in 30 min. At 3 min following the administration of Radix Ginseng (RG) and Andi, the cAMP concentration rose rapidly, reached the peak value at 15 min, then declined gradually and recovered to the primary level in 180 min. cAMP of RG and Andi reached a higher level than that of VB (P<0.05 or P<0.01); ② Andi obviously increased the cAMP concentration in murine peritoneal macrophages in a dose and effect dependent manner at 6~48 g·L-1. CONCLUSION: Andi can increase the cAMP concentration in murine peritoneal macrophages, which may partly accounts for the mechanism of Andi in improving the mice immune functions. ......
