     Predictive validity of competency model of cadets in military academy

    【Abstract】 AIM: To analyze the correlation between job performance and the competency model of cadets in military academy. METHODS: 114 cadets from a military academy were evaluated with the competency model of cadets in military academy before graduation and their job performance in the military was appraised after 1.5 years. Correlations were studied between the competency model and the academic achievement, the job performance and the competency model. The competency scores were compared between the best group (n=9) and the average group (n=5) of the job performance. RESULTS: Significant correlations were observed between the competency model and the academic achievement (P<0.05). Except for discipline and emotional stability, nine items of the competency model were correlated with the job performance (P<0.05). Except for discipline, emotional stability and reputation/influence, there was significant difference on the competency scores between the best group and the average group of the job performance (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: The competency model of cadets in military academy is of high predictive validity in predicting the job performance. ......
