    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the relationship between the cervical carcinoma and HPC2 (human polycomb protein2, HPC2) gene. METHODS: HPC2 gene fragments were amplified using PCR from human cervical carcinoma samples and Hela cells. PCR products were cloned into pGEMTeasy vector, identified by digestion, and correct clones were sequenced. RESULTS: HPC2 gene fragments were successfully obtained from human cervical carcinoma samples and Hela cells. Nucleotide homology analysis indicated that a conserved sequence in the C terminus of HPC2 may have a polymorphism in the cervical carcinoma and Hela cells. CONCLUSION: Polymorphism within this motif of HPC2 may be involved in cervical carcinogenesis. ......
