    Application of postural sway in the treatment of patients with vertigo induced by vertebrobasilar insufficiency

    【Abstract】 AIM: To explore the value of using postural sway in treating patients with vertigo induced by vertebrobasilar insufficiency. METHODS: Before and after the administration of Sibium, 60 patients with vertigo induced by vertebrobasilar insufficiency were examined by using stabilometer, B ultrasound of cervical vessels and Transcranial Doppler (TCD). RESULTS: Before treatment, the posturography of patients with vertigo induced by vertebrobasilar insufficiency was mainly of diffusive type, especially when patients had their eyes closed After the administration of by Sibium, the parameters of postural sway significantly changed except for the transposition of center of gravity in patients with vertigo induced by vertebrobasilar insufficiency. The changes of parameters of postural sway matched the alterations of clinical symptoms and results from B ultrasound of cervical vessels and TCD. CONCLUSION: Stabilometer can be used to evaluate the condition of vertigo induced by vertebrobasilar insufficiency during the course of treatment. ......
