    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the mechanisms of the cochlear injury during vertebrobasila inchemia reperfusion in guinea pigs. METHODS: Guinea pigs were assigned to 5 groups: a normal control group, a sham operated group, an ischemia group, a 24hour ischemia/reperfusion group and a 48hour ischemia/reperfusion group. ABR was conducted and the expression of NFκB and TNFα in cochlea was detected by HE staining and immunohistochemical SP method. RESULTS: A delay in all the wave latencies and an increase of the auditory threshold were observed in ischemia and ischemia/reperfusion groups. Also found in these groups were lesions in the hair cells and the stria vascularis, and decreased labeling ratio of NFΚb and TNFαexpression in cochlea. CONCLUSION: The NFκB and TNFα are involved in the ischemiareperfusion injury. ......
