Development of social cognition bias scale and military youth norm

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To evaluate the behavioral and psychological deviation by using social cognitive processing theory. MATHODS: Some maladaptive social behaviors, such as aggression and depression, were formed through mental process behavioral response linkages and were related to special knowledge structures. According to ¡°Models of the development of conduct disorder and depression¡±(Dodge, 1993), deviant behaviors were associated with different parts of the early experiences, knowledge structures and the ways of social information processing. Based on this model, a 51ª²itemed of Social Cognition Bias Scale was developed to measure aggression, depression and anxiety and 11606 Chinese military youth were tested with the scale. RESULTS: The reliability Coefficient ¦Á of the scale was .81. Its criterionª²related validity with Chinese Personality Assessment Inventory subscales was over 0ª±66. The discriminant validation revealed that high score group showed decreased speed and accuracy in processing interhemispheric cooperative tasks compared with the control group. CONCLUSION: Our 51ª²itemed of Social Cognition Bias Scale has good reliability and validity for this large sample in setting military youth norms. ......
