     Preliminary scale of recruits adjustability to military life

    【Abstract】 AIM: To develop a Scale of Recruits Adjustability to Military Life (Scale) to evaluate the recruits adjustability to military life. METHODS: Qualitative and quantitative research was conducted to develop the scale, which was used in 782 recruits to assess its reliability and validity. RESULTS: ① The scale was composed of 12 items. ② Cronbachs αcoefficient was 095. ③ Only one common factor was extracted by factorial analysis, which was in accordance with our presumed structure, and the cumulative contribution rate was 6873%. The criterion related validity between superiors and colleagues was 812% and the score of different groups had significant difference (P<005). CONCLUSION: The scale has good reliability and validity and can be used as an effective tool in evaluating the recruits' adjustability to military life. ......
