Expression in rat liver and carcinogeª²nesis of hepatitis C virus core protein

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To study the expression in rat liver and carcinogenesis of hepatitis C virus core protein. METHODS: The recombinant adenoassociated virus (rAAV) containing cDNA of HCV core protein was prepared by using recombinant virus technology. The livers of SD bandicoots were infected by rAAV. At the 2nd month and 9th month, Southern blot assay and Dot blot assay were used to detect the integrated gene and mRNA of HCV core protein and the titer of the rAAV respectively. Carcinogenesis of hepatitis C virus core protein was tested by HE staining. RESULTS: The titer of the rAAV was 2.41¡Á1014 particles/L. Two and nine months after infection, all the results of Southern blot assay and Dot blot assay were positive. At the 9th month after infection, partial cells of SD bandicoots tended to be malignant. CONCLUSION: The HCV core protein expressed in the liver of SD bandicoots is involved in carcinogenesis. ......
