     Effects of bone contact rate on natural frequency of the dental implant

    【Abstract】 AIM: To investigate the influence of bone contact rate (BCR) on the values of natural frequency of dental implants by 3dimensional finite element analysis. METHODS: Using the commercial code of SolidWorks, 3D models of cylindrical dental implant and mandibular bone segment were developed. After this 3D implantbone complex was meshed by ABAQUS software, the effects of BCR on the natural frequencies of the implant were computed. RESULTS: The natural frequency of implant increased from 23 960 Hz (BCR=0) to 25 886 Hz (BCR=100%) as the BCR increased. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that BCR plays a role in influencing the values of natural frequency of dental implants, but it is not the main influencing factor. ......
