     Effect of Chinese medicine Bushen recipe on proliferation and protein kinase activity in rat osteoblastlike cells in vitro

    【Abstract】 AIM: To study the effect of Chinese medicine Bushen recipe (BSR) on proliferation and protein kinase activity of cellular signaling transduction system in rat osteoblastlike cells (UMR106). METHODS: UMR106 cells were cultured in MEM and divided into BSR groups (at different doses of Bushen recipe) and control group. The proliferation of UMR106 cells was measured by MTT assay. The protein kinase samples were prepared and the activity of tyrosine protein kinase (TPK) and protein kinase C (PKC) was indicated as mol of 32PATP incorporation. RESULTS: By concentration of 1×10-1-1×10-5 g/L of Bushen recipe, the cell proliferation was promoted. By 1×10-4 g/L, the TPK and PKC activity increased by 44.8% and 95.1% respectively in UMR106 cells. CONCLUSION: BSR dose could activate and improves cellular signaling transduction in UMR106 cells. The proliferation of the cells may be due to this process. ......
