Significance of Sª²phase kinaseª²associated protein 2mRNA expression in esophageal carcinoma

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To explore the Sª²phase kinaseª²associated protein 2mRNA expression and its relationship with clinical pathologic characteristics in esophageal cancer. METHODS: The expression of Skp2mRNA in esophageal carcinoma tissues and its corresponding adjacent tissues was detected by RTª²PCR in 45 patients. RESULTS: The positive incidence of Skp2mRNA expression in esophageal carcinoma was 66.6%, while in its corresponding adjacent tissues was 24.4%. The expression of Skp2mRNA was correlated with the degree of differentiation and TNM stage of carcinoma, but not correlated with patient¬ðs age, gender, tumor size, and lymph node metastasis. CONCLUSION: Increased Skp2mRNA expression contributes to the carcinogenesis and progress of esophageal carcinoma, which may provide some new ways in the early diagnosis and therapy for esophageal carcinoma. ......
