     Influence of limb negative pressure treatment on improvement of free radicals injury from the chronic ischemia of lower legs in canines

    【Abstract】 AIM: To observe the influence of limb negative pressure (LNP) treatment on the improvement of free radicals injury from the chronic ischemia of lower legs in canines.METHODS: By cutting off the branches of the femoral artery and inserting two pieces of spiral wires into the artery of canine posterior limb,we succeeded in duplicating the animal model of arterial occlusive disease in the lower extremity within two weeks.The blood samples of the ischemic legs of dogs treated with LNP for 8-10 d were collected and the lipid peroxides (LPO) content as well as the superoxides dismutase (SOD) activity were measured and analyzed,respectively.RESULTS: When the ischemic model was established,the PLO content rose up and the SOD activity decreased remarkably,compared with those in normal group [(356±108) μmol/L vs (248±90) μmol/L,P<005;(623±275) μkat/L vs (944±105) μkat/L,P<001],but after the treatment with LNP for 8-10 d,the PLO content declined and the SOD activity increased significantly.However,no such changes were observed in the control group,the PLO content and the SOD activity remaining at a higher level compared with those in the LNPtreated group.There was a remarkable difference between the treatment and control groups [(455±102) μmol/L vs (247±44) μmol/L;(661±185) μkat/L vs (996±208) μkat/L ......
