     Effects of methylprednisolone on C9 and CD59 expression in rat acute spinal cord injury tissue

    【Abstract】AIM: To discuss the effects of methylprednisolone on C9 and CD59 expression in rat acute spinal cord injury tissue.METHODS: SD rat acute spinal cord injury models were established by Allens assay.The expression sites and time phase of C9 and CD59 positive reactants were observed in methylprednisolone group and normal saline group at 12 h,1,3,5 and 7 d after injury and the differences between the two groups were differentiated.RESULTS: C9 positive expression in methylprednisolone group at each time point was significantly less than that in normal saline group (P< 0.05).CD59 expression in methylprednisolone group at 12 h,1 and 3 d after injury was significantly less than that in normal saline group (P< 0.05) and there was no obvious difference between the two groups at 5 d and 7 d after injury.CONCLUSION: Methylprednisolone can relieve secondary spinal cord injury by inhibiting the activation of the complement system. ......
