Application of cornea topography (AstraMax) in screening for early keratoconus

    ¡¾Abstract¡¿ AIM: To introduce the application of cornea topography (AstraMax) in screening for subclinical keratoconus before refractive surgery. METHODS: 4382 eyes of 2202 patients were examined in our Excime Treatment Center before refractive keratectomy (PRK) and laser in situ keratomileusis(LASIK) by means of computer assisted corneal topography during October 2002 to June 2004. RESULTS: Four eyes of 2 patients were found to be subclinical keratoconus (0ª±09%),8 eyes of 5 patients were suspicious of keratoconus. CONCLUSION: AstraMax is an effective way in the screening of subclinical keratoconus before refractive surgery. ......
