    Salted duck egg is the content of the salted hard-shelled reproductive body produced by a duck, Anas domestica L., of the family Anatidae, considered as food.

    The yolk of salted duck egg is rich, thick and orange in color. Use in Chinese pastries or boil for 10 minutes; the texture is mealy, like cooled dried beans. Could be stored in the fridge for months; but, once the shell is cracked, it should be used within a day.
