Non traumatic coma

This refers to a study by Bansal et al entitled "Non Traumatic Coma".[1] I would like to clarify some doubts from the authors regarding the article. The authors state that mortality was higher in children up to 3 years of age. But Table 2 showed that there were 52 children below 3 years of age, and 13 of them died. i.e., mortality was 25%, while mortality in children above 3 years was 46%. Secondly, why mortality was slightly lower at admission and at 48th hr in children who had seizures. Seizures and coma are features of late stage of meningitis and seizures, in particular, are associated with bad prognosis. And finally, why mortality was 21% in children who had neck rigidity as compared to 41% in those who did not have neck rigidity.
