Expressions of MMP ª²9 and ILª²6 in nonª²Hodgkin¬ðs lymphoma and their Relationships with prognosis

    ¡¾Aastract¡¿ AIM: To study the expression of matrix metalloproteinase ª²9(MMPª²9) and interleukinª²6 (ILª²6) in nonª²Hodgkin¬ðs lymphoma and its subtypes, and evaluate the relationship between the staining grades of these markers and the prognosis. METHODS: Immunohistochemical SP method was used to detect the expressions of MMPª²9 and ILª²6 in the tissues of nonª²Hodgkin¬ðs lymphoma(n=51). These patients get a follwª²up of 7 years. RESULTS: The expressions of MMPª²9 and ILª²6 were mainly found in cytoplasm of the tumor cells by immunohistochemical SP method, and their expressions in tumor cells were higher than those in reactive hyperplasia of lymphnodes(P<0.05). There was statistical significance in the expression of MMPª²9 among different histological subtypes. The 5ª²year diseaseª²free survival rates were 66.7%, 50.0%, 35.3%, 0% in patients with grade 0, 1, 2, 3 of MMPª²9 staining respectively. The 5ª²year diseaseª²free survival rates were 66.7%, 44.4%, 38.9%, 0% in patients with grade 0, 1, 2, 3 of ILª²6 staining respectively. CONCLUSION: The expressions of MMPª²9 and ILª²6 in tumor cells are higher than those in reactive hyperplasia of lymphnodes. Furthermore, have a correlation with histological subtypes. The staining grades of MMPª²9 and ILª²6 are important indexes to estimate the prognosis of nonª²Hodgkin¬ðs lymphoma. ......
