    Innocent, immature Southern belle Scarlett O'Hara is growing up in the Confederacy during the Civil War. She cares little about the war effort. However, problems eventually drag her into the grips of war. Scarlett learns how to fend for herself, and she becomes strong but selfish at the end of the war. The movie ends tragically when Scarlett's true love leaves her because Scarlett can't get her former lover out of her mind.
