    Catch 22 (1961) —— Joseph Heller

    I remember quite clearly that starting this book and even having read quite a way into it, I just could not understand what it was about or what was going on; I was disorientated, things did not seem real. As the book progressed I realized that this effect was a result of Heller's genius. A classic anti-war novel, Heller brilliantly weaves a world of confusion before the eyes of the reader. At first you think Heller is describing some lunatic fictional world but his skill becomes clear when you realize that he is simply describing the insane reality of war.
