ABSTRACT Objective: To define the influence of the individualized exercise program on glycosylated hemoglobin of the patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods: From April to October 2014, 70 cases of type 2 diabetes in the hospital’s endocrine ward were selected, and randomly divided into a control group and an intervention group. The patients in the control group were given the regular exercise guidance, and the patients in the intervention group were given the individualized exercise programs. After being discharged, their exercises and self-monitoring of blood glucose were recorded weekly and followed up by telephone, which were summarized and guided in the different stages. After three months, the indexes of glycosylated hemoglobin were collected before and after being discharged from the hospital. Results: The levels of glycosylated hemoglobin in the control group were(9.90±1.83) % and(8.85±1.79) % and the levels of glycosylated hemoglobin in the intervention group were (10.18±2.31)% and(7.01±0.80) % at discharge and after discharge, respectively. Glycosylated hemoglobin showed a downward trend in the patients of the two groups after 3 months of being discharged, and the glycosylated hemoglobin of the intervention group was lower than that of the control group. Compared by the repeated measures analysis of variance in the linear model, the differences of glycosylated hemoglobin values between the two groups at the different measuring time had the statistical significance(P<0.01), and there was interaction between them(P<0.01). Conclusion: Exercise guidance is an effective intervention method for glucose control in patients with diabetes. Compared with the conventional exercise guidance, the individualized exercise program has a better effect on controlling the glycosylated hemoglobin and lowering blood glucose of the patients.
