[Abstract] Objective To make a contrastive study about comparing the contents of berberine and phellodendrine in Cortex phellodendri of different product districts and picking time， and provide information for its medical material quality appraise and the reasonable utilization of resources. Methods HPLC was used to determine the contents of berberine and phellodendrine in Cortex phellodendri of different product districts and picking time， the chromatographic column was Lichrospher detect wavelength was 284 nm， the flow rate was 1 mL/min.
